When we first meet, I plan to help you feel relaxed and comfortable which developing a professional therapeutic relationship. We will review your medications, history, and current symptoms. This appointment will include a psychiatric evaluation. Abington Health Group believes in providing thorough compassionate care exemplified by offering our first meeting lasting around 60 minutes. We will make a plan for treatment. Follow up appointments are typically 15-30 minutes. If you have recent labs, tests, or diagnoses from another provider, please have it ready for review. Time ensures we understand your goals and values to personalize your treatment plan.

We treat many psychiatric mental health conditions. We offer medication management and therapeutic guidance for conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, bipolar, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, dementia, sleep disorders, and others.

A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor, who specializes in the treatment of psychiatric conditions. Psychiatrists attend medical school and then have additional training in psychiatry and mental health. They can provide therapy and medications and preform medical and psychiatric evaluations.

 

A Psychologist is a professional trained in psychology, the mind, behavior, and emotion. They can provide psychotherapy.  

 

A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse with specialized education and training in psychiatry. Like psychiatrists PMHNPs can evaluate, diagnose, treat, provide therapy, and prescribe medications. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners must complete a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and a Master’s of Science in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. Then they must take a national exam to become Board Certified.

 

All of these mental health professionals work in collaboration with you to optimize your health and well-being!

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we request 24 hours advanced notice. Otherwise, you will be charged in full for the time reserved for you. Insurance does not cover missed appointments. You may cancel or reschedule by calling 570-800-3988. As a telepsychiatry service, we do not close due to weather.

We offer appointments for new patients in one week, generally with in 48 hours. We include you as part of our care team and make personalized plans of care unique to you. We offer individualized support. Abington Health Group is owned and operated by a Nurse Practitioner, who is board certified as both a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and an adult geriatric primary care nurse practitioner. This means you will receive holistic care and sound guidance founded on evidence-based practice. Get seen sooner and spend more time with the provider as compared to in office settings.

Yes. We are in network with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Oscar, Oxford, United Healthcare,  Medicare, Medicaid, Geisinger, Humana, and Tricare East. If you are out of network, we accept self-pay patients. We can provide you with a ‘superbill’ to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement according to your plan benefits.

Abington Health Group works with clients who may be facing difficulties in daily life related to school, work, family, or other relationship stressors. During our initial meeting we will discuss the issues that you face and look for root causes. We will provide holistic solutions and guide you with relaxation techniques and help provide coping strategies so that you can work toward becoming the best you! currently We work with all ages starting with children six though adulthood residing in Pennsylvania.

We focus on individuality and listen with a compassionate ear. We have a unique skill set and vast clinical experiences. We encourage health promotion and wellness and focus on the well-being of the whole person. Both Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and Psychopharmacologists. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners can work relatively autonomously and meet with a collaborating Psychiatrist for monthly case reviews. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioners have extensive training and clinical experience. They generally have several times the training in treating mental illness than medical doctors in primary care. Abington Health Group provides flexibility with after-hours telepsychiatry appointments. We offer a holistic and open approach. Nurse practitioners make mental health care more accessible.

Telepsychiatry allows you to find the best provider for you; not just the closest provider in proximity to you! You can receive care in a location convenient and comfortable for you anywhere in the state of Pennsylvania. Work or personal commitments can often be a barrier to traveling to an office to receiving the care you need and deserve. With telepsychiatry, a secure HIPAA compliant system allows Abington Health Group to provide you with top quality service to meet your needs. We offer appointments after regular business hours to fit into your active lifestyle.
